87 22RE deck plate mod?

so I read the posts about the battery/AFM swap but after reading ALL the posts i'm not sure it would do me much good. The deckplate mod sounds interesting but I cant find specifics on it (with pics) for my 87 22RE pickup.
HELP?????

The deckplate is pretty universal regardless of what vehicle you are doing it on.

I did a quick search for "22re deckplate" and found a TON of threads...here's one with some good info and even a few pics IIRC...

If for some reason that thread, or others using that search doesn't help, just post back up and we'll see what we can do for ya!

Thanks!
It pulled up fine and I think i understand the mod now but i dont see much benefit on my daily driver, not much O/R truck. Most posts just indicate the noise gain but not much else. I guess i was looking for some power improvement/mileage. It appears that the factory tube from the rad core straight to the box is a good way to get cooler outside the E-bay air to the filter box.
Maybe i could take the AFM off the box, turn it upside down and mount it to a HOOD SCOOP.....................
What is the gain connected with the AFM/battery swap? it seems easy enough to do but again, for my time I'd like to see some improvement (@ 47, "looks cool" doesnt matter so much any more!). Wouldnt a K&N type filter attached to the AFM work just as well on the driver side?
Sorry for the questions but i guess i think tooooo much!
