Exclamation 86 4runner start problems

hi guys i am new to off roading and cars in general. i know some what the basics on cars and trucks so bare with me. well this past sunday i took my 86 4runner off road for the second time. sadly i submerged it in a lake. lucky for me some dudes helped me out and take the water out of the engine, but it did not start. i took off the computer and let it dry in rice. it did hell of a good job. i changed the oil, oil filter and air filter yesterday and my yota is up and running now. tomorrow morning i am going to change the oil a final time to get rid of any left over water.
well here is my problem on a cold start it will not stay on when i turn the ignition unless i give it some gas. once i am running it for a good 15 to 20 minutes on the street it starts to shutter and sometimes turn off on complete stops. i really need some help here to figure out what is wrong. i hope you guys can help thanks.

Heyas, I am new here as well and new to working on cars. I made a long checklist with the help of folks around here, a friend of mine, and 4crawler's webpage. Here is what I did to get mine up and running (it's still running rough but running). https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f120.../#post51850879

Engine ran fine before diving into water?

I assume the engine ran fine for the first time after getting rid of the water?

If the engine took on water... more than likely water/dirt made its way into the various throttle passages and the idle control valve....

Suggest cleaning these things....

AFM(Air flow meter) Door sticking open/closed?

Various electrical sensors contaminated with moisture and or dirt/corrosion?

Codes?

Computer could be damaged from taking on water... >_<

Mine actually does this to but it's never been submerged in a lake before. I've just learned to deal with it. Besides, it makes the early mornings more exciting when I wake the neighborhood giving it gas with no exhaust .

I'm pretty sure my problem is pointing at a faulty TPS. See if you can pull any trouble codes and reference them to the FSM in my sig or here.

Check everything Kiroshu said and if you haven't already change the plugs, wires, cap and button to be on the safe side.
