84 pickup...ideas?

84 4x4 reg cab, long bed, 22r, just blew the g52 5spd trans

I have my idea's of how I want to build...but only kinda, ha.

I blew a bearing in the g52 5spd and just dropped it out, looking for a used trans, think i may have found a r151f to put in w/ the matchin tcase and bellhousing...

As for lift, wheels, cutting, not cutting, etc...gimme YOUR ideas, i like to see if I can find something I haven't thought of that I would like...

Very low budget! I wouldnt find some lift, but not hella. It has plenty of rust issues, but overall is solid. The ugly front bumper is already off.

I guess I should rephrase...lets just go for your ideas on lifting, cutting, etc...as for all the drivetrain stuff...I already have those ideas,

Keep the longbed, bob it, flatbed??? Would a xtra cab fit on my frame with only small fab? If so, id prob just flatbed it then.

Search and read the build up section for 84-85s to get ideas.

I have been searching everywhere looking at pictures, I thought I'd start up a thread since its a forum and I'm new to this one. But it seems on all forums these days, no one wants to post back except telling people to search. I guess there's no reason to make an account these days on any forum.....

I guess just delete my account and just stay to searching and talking to myself, haha

Aloha, bruddah...

And I don't think the R151f will bolt to a 22R. Or was it behind a 22RTE?

Aloha!
It'll bolt up if you have the bellhousing and tcase that goes with it, its a 23 spline, so the matching tcase must be with it and bellhousing mounts the r style trans to the 22r. The r150f is different, forget how, for v6's or something, dont know much bout that one, i think it works too if you get the r151f bellhousing.

*edit*
I think i read your comment wrong, yes it was from a 22rte.

I could be wrong but I seem to remember something in the Newbie tech section rules saying you wont be told to search if you post in here...

"This forum will abide by three very simple rules:

No member in the Newbie Forum will be told to search. If you want to know how to search, read the FAQ.
Any question of any kind may be asked here, provided it doesn't break the rules linked to above.
If the moderators or administrators catch a certain member replying to posts in this forum with a demeanor that suggests anything other than good natured or being helpful, action can be taken at the mod/admin's discretion. In other words, if you don't want to help, you're better off not posting anything." as posted by Churnd

or did I read this wrong?

Id dig through the post a pic type of threads... that going to be the most ideas.. all in one place

You know why people tell you to search?.. because its already been discussed!!1 you want you talk about your truck specifically... make a build thread..

I say wheel it and modify as needed...

Thanks a bunch. It's been a fun year since I've had it. Got a long ways to go though... What did you decide for build ideas?
