83 trans noise

83 trans noise
I found an 83 5 speed 4X4 truck with 55k on the odometer. The shifter is "wobbly" and I know you can get a bushing kit to fix that. The other problem is in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear there is a "roaring" sound. Any ideas what may be causing this? Low fluid? Thanks.
