83 SFA remove front axles for HP third

2 questions
background, just bought a HP third for my 89 runner, and am wondering how the axles breakdown.

1. when i break down the axles do i have to breakdown the manual locking hub? or can i take it off as an assembly?

2. to get the axles out do i have to breakdown the whole spindle assembly? or can i take the locking hubs off each side, dust shield, rotor, and caliper then just pull the axle out?

http://www.lukemiller.org/toys/1985_...t_axle_FSM.pdf
this is my reference and for the record i do not have my tools, FSMs chiltons/haynes manuals, all are in storage and i am using a computer at the hotel. One ofthe manyissues is that you only get 30 min at a time and it is terribly hard to search and then get cut off as you are starting to find what you need.

Remove locking hubs, remove big wheel bearing nuts, remove outer bearing, remove hub/rotor assembly (which will hold inner bearing and seal), remove spindle, remove Birfield/axle. Then your third can be removed and HP installed. I would recommend new seals and gaskets and bearing repack, if it wasn't done recently.

In other words, you have to take it all apart. Have fun!

i wish the axle came apart like the 80 series, four bolts behind the cup and you slide the axle out..

I guess you could theoretically (I haven't done it) remove the outer hub dial, remove the axle outer snap ring, remove wipe seal/felt, then remove the upper and lower trunnions/steering arms, and remove the whole hub/rotor/locking hub assembly.

But I think it'd be easier to do the bearings/hub/spindle route.
