79 yota help

79 yota help

K just bought a 1979 yota with 35" that needs a complete motor not sure what would b better any suggestions ? used 22r ? or any 22re crate motors mainly going to b used mountian use or rock crawling what good improvements can I do

Does your truck have an engine currently? It would depend on your skill level to either buy a crate motor or find a used motor and freshen it up.

It has a 22r now but the head and the block is cracked the air cleaner stud apparently went through the motor

What are your plans for the truck? The engine might be salvageable with a rebuild of course.

Goin to b a run around the hills kind of thing maybe some crawling in moab trail rides that kind of thing want to do it right !!! dont want it to b luggy with the big tires it has a 3" sus lift and a 3" body lift

I'd say research before you spend money on anything. You have quite a few choices for engines depending on your skill level. 22r, 3rz, 5vz, toyota v8's, and domestic v8's
