70k same trans noise! cant find same description
Ive read of all kinds of trans noise but none found the same...truck is a 92/ 2wd/ manual/ 22re, so door sticker says W55 down in the bottom right.
I bought and drove this truck 70k with the same consistent noise.
a gravel metallic grind kinda sound, hasn't gotten any louder with time
It makes no noise until engaged in gear
Its consistent through all gears. only present on acceleration and downshifting, meaning I can make it go away with giving just the right amount of gas where the trans isnt doing any kind of work to push or pull.
the PO gave me a receipt for a fresh clutch when I bought it and in the side notes on that it said, trans bearing noise...needs replaced. clutch has worked fine always.
Just want to see if anyone else has had this same kind of noise and which bearing I should be lookin to replace..or if not ill just run it, its gotten me 70k and used trans are out there for 1-200 I know.
