4wd crossmember placement

hey guys, new here. got a 2000 sr5 2wd auto that i'm gonna go ahead and convert to 4wd auto this summer (no i don't want to make it easy, and just sell/buy a 4x4, no fun in that). Starting to gather the parts, but I've got a question about the crossmember. Is the 2wd crossmember in a different location than the 4wd (I read on sonoransteel that 98's were different)?

If it is in a diff. location, is it far enough away that I can take my rig to a shop and have them weld the 4wd crossmember's brackets onto the frame while leaving my 2wd intact until I'm ready to swap? If not... anyone got any suggestions for how to get over this slight hurdle, ie, not having a mount for the tranny/t-case... I would be stuck at my house with the tranny/t-case installed, and a crossmember that wouldn't be doing me any good. I can't fab up a bracket like the sonoransteel guys did... don't have the tools/experience... and from that situation... I'm not sure how I could get it to a machineshop to do it for me??

I think I've searched just about every term I can, and so far I can't find anything, but since this is my first post... figured it'd be best here.

thanks in advance -adi
