oh let me take a stab at it...

You were out driving around after just getting your 35's on, maybe maybe not towing a 1,000lb trailer and you happened to glance down and notice the temp gage in the red?

Am I close?

Assuming you didn't take any connectors loose for the WP install, and assuming they're plugged in... Run a compression test.

We put all of the belts back on,

i was driving home from a store just down the road, not far at all, i parked in my drive way and when i got out i heard a drip, looked under my truck saw a small drip, then it just started pouring out right then.

the temp gage never was up when was driving it.

This i my first car and im really not sure exactly what im doing...

Red face

When you say it doesn`t start do you mean it cranks but does not start??

Or it does nothing when the key is turned??..

With these Trucks almost any engine might be in there it is good to know just which one you have.

I can understand the water pump failing but a gasket leak where the water just poured out seems very strange.

It is your first vehicle take your time read as much and learn all you can .

I hope it is something simple .

Forget to plug some wires back in that may have been unplugged

O.k... first time doing a waterpump on a 3.0l... no biggie, same thing happened to me, my first time, 99% chance you didnt get the timing back where it supposed to be.... just take it all apart again, and line everything up, Once you get ev thing lined up again, and tight, spin the motor over at least 2 revolutions,(with a wrench, on the crank) then make sure everything still lines up, if not, dismantle and repeat.... took me 3 tries on my first attempt at a timing belt, after that... it goes a lot smoother....

I know this is an old thread, but I have this same situation going on. Replaced the water pump and 4Runner won't start now. I thought it might be the timing belt...so glad you guys confirmed it pretty much. Thanks!
