Does it sound normal when turning over or does it sound faster or higher pitched?

it has a normal sound like its trying to start but nothing gets it going at first i thought it was the fuel pump so i screwed the fuel line off to see if gas was coming through and it was then i checked all the plugs to see if they had fire going to them and they do...I find it weird for it to work one day and quit the next.

sounds like desertcamper is referring to the timing belt and its possible demise.....
year, engine, miles might be helpful too.

Well, there's only 3 things needed for an engine to run:
- fuel
- air/compression
- spark

It sounds like you've verified spark and fuel to the rail. Do you know if the injectors are firing and you're getting fuel in the cylinder?

Compression test?

no compression test yet. im not sure if the injectors are getting fuel to the cylinder, but it was running fine one day and the next it just quits.. i tried some starter fluid into one of the cylinders and still nothing. i guess im going to have to do the compression test before i can decide on what im going to do with this thing

Well, when you figure out which of the three is not happening, it's a lot easier to trace it down.

Check your fuses, the EFI fuse in particular - especially if you DON'T have a CEL, or any stored codes. Here's how you check for codes:
