4runner 4.88 Thirds, How mcuh?
#1
Hello, wasnt sure if this was dumb so I posted it in the newbie section so I hopefully wouldnt get harrased, does anyone know on average how much the Automatic 4runners 3.0 4.88 geared diffs run for, from anyone? Doing some pricing on things before I go over my budget then Im stuck with a non-moving truck. Im guessing 120 per third, if you have any front or rear thirds for sale that are the 4runner 4.88 gears just send me a pm, thanks.

Not sure how much they go for, but you DO know that those thirds are not regearable, right? You'll be stuck with 4.88's forever ... (or you have to keep your current diffs)
In the long run, I think it makes better financial sense to get some junkyard thirds and regear them (and of course lockers if you 'wheel LOL), then sell your thirds...
Just my $0.02

Well Im more of a prerunner because I live in the desert so IFS works much better out her and my kit works best with 33's so 4.88 forever is perfectly fine but why cant they be regeared, no one has ever told me. Thanks

Another reason is that Im on a stricked budget so I thought just buying those differentials would be cheaper than regearing, saw a front diff for $120, so I guess I might be in luck.
