Cool 3vze Seafoam

Hey,

To all those new to the 3vze... Just thought I would post pictures showing the easiest place to induce seafoam into the vacuum system.

You can't use the brake booster end that plugs straight into the master cylinder (phew thank you search feature)... But further down the line attached to the firewall is a link with hose clamps that you can disconnect and use to seafoam
the engine.

Closer up...

Just thought I'd share some 3vze specific info that I couldn't find, should help out anyone looking for an easy way to seafoam the 3.slow... Cuz as anyone knows the PCV valve in this thing is a PITA...

Cheers

I don't get it. Why can't I use the brake booster line? I've done it on 8 or 9 toyota vehicles already, seems to work fine for me.

Bingo!

You can use the brake booster line. I don't know why you would. Through the front of the throttle body is much better. Having it flow into the back of the plenum through that hose doesn't let it clean your throttle body and plenum chamber in the dirtiest places. Which are at and just behind the throttle valve/plate. A better way is to use the PCV ventilation hose that enters the air intake hose near the front of the throttle body. And is what's recommended by the makers of SeaFoam for use on non-carbureted engines. However, this, as well as any application through a large vacuum line such as the one for the brake booster, can create a problem via the introduction of a rather large vacuum leak. Making the engine want to stall immediately(PCV vent hose), or raising the engine's speed beyond the idle speed recommended during the process(brake booster vac line), before the product can be administered in the recommended quantity.

BTW, these "problems" with using the brake booster vacuum line or PCV ventilation hose at the throttle body end of the air intake tube have been addressed and solved by the invention of the new SeaFoam Spray. Which doesn't require the same application technique as the traditional SeaFoam of the past.

It's a bit hard to explain, but the method for use of the spray involves a specially shaped straw that feeds under the air intake hose directly in front of the throttle body. And doesn't create a large vacuum leak when applying the product.

Introducing Sea Foam Spray!

Sea Foam Spray is for internal engine use only to clean carbon deposits from intake systems, intake valves, and combustion chambers of your engine. Use Sea Foam Spray to clean all these areas with the cleaning tube and hook guide tool inserted into a sealed air intake system. Spray the Sea Foam Spray into the engine from in front of the throttle plate..

Sea Foam Spray can be used to clean gum and varnish from a 2 cycle engine. Run engine and spray Sea Foam Spray directly inside carburetor throat. Repeat as needed for cleaning.

Sea Foam Spray’s unique spray valve even works with the can held upside down so you can use it in difficult-to-reach applications.

•100% pure petroleum for use in cleaning harmful gums, varnish and carbon from air induction systems and combustion chambers on all 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines.
•Cures hesitation, stalls, pings, flat spots and rough idle due to carbon buildup.
•Use to store and fog 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines.
•Helps pass emission tests. EPA registered.
•Cleans intake valves and pistons.
•Cleans Catalytic converter odors.
•Restores power and pickup.
•Oxygen sensor safe.
