3rd Gen Suspension/Lift Questions
#1
Hey guys, I'm 19 years old and I've had my 2000 4Runner for about 4 (lol) years now. I'll start off by apologizing if this is a reiteration of previous topics, but Ive spent a solid two days of my vacation searching the forum/web and am still confused :-p
This summer I saved a little extra money to buy a 'lift' for my truck. I've kinda bummed around the forum for a couple years so I knew to check out ToyTec (still waiting on my shipping quote to Canada lol :-p )
I was hoping to go with an OME 881/890 setup, but I read on the Sonoran Steel website that this will end up goofy without the accessory kit. So I then decided I would maybe go with 880/906 setup, because this addressed my other concern of excessive CV axle wear from a higher lift (heard it still happens even with a diff drop?)
I did some more digging and learned that I could lift it using TRD coils and Tokico/Bilstein struts/shocks. Would this be the better way to go? I'm going to school in the fall so I need the most reliable setup for the least $$$. I don't wheel my truck hard, it's my DD and sees mostly old logging roads and and splendid Canadian winters for 4x4ing. Oh, and I plan on keeping my 265/75s on the truck and it probably won't see bumpers, sliders or heavy skids for a while.
So, I guess any help and guidance in building my truck would be totally awesome guys! Thanks!

Just throwing this out there as my conversation with Toytech shipping dept pointed me to a place in Lloydminister Alberta. Appearantly shipping from there to BC is only $65. Not sure where you are in Canada, but that might be a better route to go since you wont have to pay customs and a higher shipping cost.

Based on what youre saying I think the 880/906 would be perfect. You wont need the SS OME kit and it will look good with some chunky 31's. Ive found the rear end sway is much less with the 906 vs the 890 as well. Heres what I found...

waste of dough if asking for my 2 cents. I once paid a boat load of dough for coilovers and blah blah blah. I never went offroading DUH. Coil spacer lift, amazon .com and you can get all 4 for 250.00 ish.
good luck post a pic of your ride before and after, thaNKS!!!
