Toyotas tick. Unless it really load, it's normal. Find another yota w/ a 3.4 and compare yours to it. I'll bet it's nothing out of the ordinary.

Ok, had to check (a lot of people think the normal ticking is a problem). Sounds like you may have an exhaust leak at the maifold.

Theres no rockers in a 3.4. What do you mean oil pressure all the way down? ITs not getting too low is it? Check your oil? Got oil? May be time for an oil change. Could be a possible exhaust leak seeing as how i have not heard the sound in person guessing is wide open turf here. So you mean you can only here it at idle. I would not worry about it unless its causing driveablity issues.

Did you ever find out what it was? My 99 just developed an interesting ticking noise at 700RPM's and goes a way at 900+ RPM's, sounds the loudest from under the back of the motor. Thought it was the Evap clicking but it sounds more mechanical.

Thanks

Tony

*Edit* My noise ended up being the flex plate. It was cracked in 5 places, I caught it in the nick of time.
