I have a 1992 truck 4X4 w/ 3.0 . Its shot, and I m going to swap it for a 3.4 . What i've read is that its a matching replacement, and a better replacement then the 3.0 . Its mated to a 5 sp. trans. My questions are, how much more power does it have ? Will it work w/ my same computer ? Will any of the toyota 3.4s work or do I need a 1992 ? Lastly , what problems will I encounter on the swap...

Here's what I can tell you:

The 3.0 has 145 hp, the 3.4 has 190. Big difference and you can feel it. I had a 3.0 4runner and it was a dog compared to my 3.4 4runner.

I don't think it will work with your same computer because the 3.0 had the ODB1 diagnostic system and the 3.4 uses the OBD2. I have never done a swap so I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm sure that info is in the engine swap section.

You can't get a '92 3.4 because they weren't offered until the 95.5 Tacoma.

look for a 3.4 with supercharger!!! but i think you might need to get a hood buldge or get a hood scoop. I know that there's some SAS thread on here where the guy swapped a 3.0 for a 3.4 in his 2nd gen runner and he had clearance issues, but i also think its because of all the mods he had on the truck... good luck dude
