2nd gen ifs diff install

This weekend I dropped the front differential out of my 4runner, but noticed that the power was not hooked up to the old diff. When I installed the new one I could not find where to plug the new one in. I guess the old one had been disconnected for a while. Any pointers as to where I need to look?

Thanks in advance.

The gasket is really messy, I will be removing the diff and cleaning this up, but just wanted to test it out. I guess this would be for the ADD portion of the diff.

I hosted it from there, and put it between the [/IMG] brackets. We'll see if this works.

There we go. You had some extra unnecessary coding in there.

Anyways, that loose wire is for the sensor. The actual ADD portion is vacuum controlled. There should be a wire hanging down by the drivers side, near the oil pressure sensor that it will plug in to.

There should be a opposite end of that plug coming down from the fender wall to plug that into so it lights up on your dash showing you your in 4wd iirc

Thanks, I hit some stuff that tore the armor off of the front before I replaced the differential. I tried to connect it to that wire but couldnt get the connection fit. If I still can't get it would it be bad to just hardwire this?

The only reason the connector might not fit is because you used a diff from a later model truck, which has different connectors for the short sub harness. you can likely get the correct subharness from the dealer, or just reuse your old one if you still have it.
