I bought a 86 22rte 4runner with the head off for $700 bought head gasket set put i got it all back together it has good compression new plugs no leaks timings good tps is good but have almost no power it drives but barely any suggestions? anyone in san diego who would have time to check it out? I usualy work on chevy's so i dont know to much about yotas.

 

whats the compression? hows the turbo, what turbo is on it does it still have the factory ct-20?

 

yeah it still has the ct-20 the turbo is good not loos no cracks the compression is 120 across.

 

the 22ret is suppost to have 149psi compression

 

is that when the turbo boosts

 

How about your clutch? Maybe its slipping.

 

Clutch is good not slipping floor it and it doesn't rev up I can move it bit it has no torque to it

 

if it has them check your cat and O2 sensors they same to have a huge effect on the way a 22 runs

 

...RTE 4Runners didn't come with a clutch.


So now you've got to worry about what kinda rigged Toyota ya got, and how it was rigged...
