I just got the offer to trade my built 22r for a 22ret with a ct26. He would include wiring harness and computer as well. I have always wanted to swap one of these into my (94 ext cab 4x4) truck. My only concern would be doing the wiring harness and questions about the transmission fitting. So here it goes:

1: How hard is it to swap wiring harnesses?
2: Would my current transmission fit the 22ret or would i need a turbo transmission as well?
3: Anyone else done this swap have tips or advice before i get into this?
4: What kind of power and gas mileage do they get?

uh... what tranny do you have, the stock 22ret trucks came with the r151 tranny that was 23spline but im pretty sure anything will bolt up tho.

Also the ct26 isnt the stock turbo for the truck, they came with the ct20, make sure the turbo housing isnt cracked. that can be very spendy to fix like 800+. Also with the ct26 swap in requireds the motor to be built/tuned different from stock, depending on the boost hes running. Stock they ran around 8psi boost and had like 149psi motor compression.

I couldnt imagine the wiring swap being to hard but im sure its alot of work but havent done it before. And i think the horse power differenc is only like 30+ more than the 22re so....
