Exclamation 22re timing noises/timing tensioner issues

I recently learned the tensioner works off of oil pressure. Now, IF it is indeed my tensioner that failed. Rather than a hydraulic, would anyone recommend using a rigid nylon tensioner? similar to the guides themselves? I found the part at autozone for a 93 pickup. It looks odd, and new so I want to get a second opinion I work at AZ, and was going to get a tensioner when I saw this. Has anyone used it? and if you did how did it go, Im hoping this is the answer to all my timing noise.
