My '93 22re has a factory tach, the redline starts at 5750 I believe. People say they can "safely" go to 6K RPM, but personally, I wouldnt ever go that high. Plus, my truck doesnt rev much past 5K anyways...but thats just my truck.

The 22r is certainly not much different, if at all.

I would recomend never redlining unless its an emergency or somethin. 22r's are built for low RPM Horsepower output just like any truck motor. I believe the 22re delievers 120 HP at 4000 RPM or close to that which is all the hp it has so yea.

Peak flywheel HP is between 112-116 HP(depending on year) at 4800 RPM, and 140 or so lb/ft of torque at 2800RPM on a 22re, and like 96 hp on the 22r. Im not sure about the torque on a 22r.
