2005 4Runner - Getting Whine on Acceleration
Hey guys - Long time lurker, first time noob because I just brought home a 2005 SR5 that had great service records and I loved my test drive.
Now 1 day later I'm noticing stuff I may have missed during my run and gun test drive.
Current mileage is 139k - I'm noticing a whine both while in drive or neutral when accelerating. Like other threads it is almost like a turbine whine.
I'm going to get it inspected because I do get a 5 day return policy but I'm looking for any insight.
Could this be early tranny failure? I read about 30 threads but can't tell if this is possibly a sign. It sounds like the most common issue is idle pulley going bad.
Also, my tires (Duelers) are loud, like really loud. They aren't AT's but they sound like it. Is that a common 4Runner/LC issue?
Thanks guys, sorry if I missed posts but I'm tired and at the end of my rope.
