2000 celica gt electrical problems.
I have a Celica with alot of problems. Everything quit all at once. No dash lights, no odometer display, fuel gauge inop, speedo and tach inop. No door chime with key in ignition or headlights on. Car will start and run fine. Ck engine light is on and srs light works. All fuses in car fusebox and under hood good. has any one ever had something like this happen. Possible multiplex problem? please help if you can, thanks

2000 Celica No dash or automatic HL, runs fine
Has this problem been resolved with easy success?
I too have had the same problem. All fuses have been checked with voltmeter to be good, head light and seat belt lights work. The automatic headlights do not control themselves anymore. Car runs great.

Complete electrical failure Celica
Hi, I hope this helps a few of you guys, struggling with the electrical fault on Celica's where you have complete electrical failure, other than the car starts and runs ok!
So, You have no dash operation, no window operation, etc, etc.
Look at the fuse box under the bonnet, by the left front wing. Lift the lid, you'll see all the usual fuses, but look closer:
right at the front, where the wiring loom comes up to the fuse box, there is a 120A fusible link tucked in there (usually in a white plastic surround and a clear plastic cover).
The top of this link will 'ping off' , but be careful, it's easily lost. Look at this link closely, mine was just cracked and it was making and braking randomly, some are just blown out, all together.
If all you can see is 2x metal lugs stuck upwards, then the link is blown!!
If you get a simple lamp tester, you can test each side of the link to make sure there is continuity (Feed each side) If no feed flowing, that's your problem.
Replace the link, sorted :-)
As a temporary test, get someone to look at the dash lights, with the ignition on and short across the link, just momentarily and the dash lights should come on.
If, for some strange reason it is not this on your car, lift the fuse box, there will be some corrosion issue, just there somewhere, because this is the point all that elecronicstuff is fed from ;-)
Hope that helps? Good luck, People.

Nice to see a solution to an unanswered post, no matter how old. Who knows. Other folks might be looking. 2000 isn't as old for a Toy. Last model for this was 06.
I prefer the 6th generation Celica
