1990 4runner --> p/u cab swap?

my buddy has a 1990 Toyota 4runner with a smashed cab from a recent rollover. its SAS'd and everything suspension and motor wise is in good condition. frame is straight, etc..... does anyone know if he can swap a pickup truck cab onto the 4runner frame? maybe a single cab or ex. cab? any mods to make it work? any help is greatly appreciated.

I have been checking into chassis specs quite a bit lately and everything I can find shows that the reg. cab truck (shortbed) and the 4Runner chassis have the exact same cab mounting locations. By this I mean that the six cab bolts on the truck cab should line up without any problems. As far as mounting the bed is concerned, you would just need to do some measuring, but from what I can tell, it may work as well.
