07 FJ Transfer Case--what type fluid?
Good morning--I am going through my new to me part time 4x4 07 FJ with auto tranny and replacing fluids. My spec page says the transfer case takes API GL-3 Hypoid in 75W90 weight. The fulltime 4wd takes GL-5. GL-5 is easy to come by but I cannot find any GL-3. Has anyone come across this issue and do you have a suggestion on what type of oil to use? Is synthetic best?
Thank you.
Thank you.

If it was me, I would go to the dealership and get it from them. There is a product called syncromesh that is a GL-3 I believe, but it's hard to find.
Have you tried google?
Edit: After reading amsoil's site on syncromesh, I can't see anything specific that say's it's a gl-3 product.

I googled it for you and came back with this:
http://www.amazon.com/Silkolene-Medi.../dp/B00330M55C
I would still go to the dealer...
