im looking at a 03 x cab taco SR5 4cyl,5spd,4x4 it has 72.5K,on it price is 13900, what areas should i look at as far as problem areas. never owned a toyota but i have driven a few and they seemed fine. what do you think good deal or not? thanx

 

that's a pretty decent deal for that truck. not excelent but average. It's a great truck though. The only problems i've ever heard about with that generation of yota was the frame rusting. Just look under it and if you see rust mention it to the seller or dealer and look for another yota. But other than that expect it to refuse to die even if you want it to. it's a yota. they better than the energiser bunny.

As said before check for frame rust, since you live in vermont im guessing it snows and they use salt, that'll deff kill that frame.
There have been issues with the frames from back then and toyota is recalling them/paying top dollar for them so you'll buy a new one.

But that 2.7 4banger is a pretty solid motor with only 75k on it.
ask for service records obviously, other then that can't say much.
