I need a scrap rear axle housing

I'm about to tackle my rear wheel bearings and need a scrap rear axle housing from a '96-'02 4Runner in order to loosely copy the factory service tool.

If you are within driving distance, I'll take an entire housing. If you're located further away, I only need one side (cut just past the differential).

Please let me know what you have and what the asking price is.

Ahh Bummer. I built one last summer and couldn't GIVE my other half of axle away, so it went to scrap...

I just gave both front and rear axles off the 96 away this past week. There's gotta be something out there for you somewhere.

Having a Press I never really needed one of these.

If I had the measurements I could build one .

Not sure just where you are in Md but your welcome to come some weekend and I will help you change your bearings.

Why does it need to be those years what is different??

Thank you for the offer - Ellicott City (just west of Baltimore). A 3rd Gen axle housing will allow me to properly bolt to the bearing cup in order to use my press.

I found a local wrecked 3rd Gen and am contemplating buying it for the axle housing. Not sure how the wife would react to a POS 4Runner in the driveway...

I picked up a '99 housing today. Three hour round trip....

Is there a certain length the "tool" should be? I presume any length starting at the diff will work.

Heres a helpful 4x4 wire link. http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/mainte...wheel_bearing/

I think I made mine about 18" inches? but I dont remember. It doesn't have to be exact, just has to work in your press.
