79-83 RARE parts thread ...

seems to me , now that the 79-83's are a "classic" .. some parts are are getting very hard to fine .. in fact RARE would be the choice of words to correctly describe most situations ... Discontinued from OE , used is the only option for these ... some examples :

I have been looking for months , and months for some chrome mirrors , that are just not out there anymore ..

also
front mud flaps ..

Just cant seem to find em !!!

what RARE parts are you guys looking for , and just cant seem to find ?

79-83 Rare Parts List OE parts only

Chrome low mount plastic mirrors
Front mudflaps
Rear mudflaps
Interior panels .. of all colors
Dash pads
Charge lamp relay
4Speed shifter knob
toyota 4X4 emblems (fenders)
side latch tailgates (no rust)
un-molested center dash bezzles
Floor pans
Original steel bed ...(fiberglass replacement avaliable @ toyotafiberglass.com )

I would KILL for some nice interior pieces.. door panels, carpet, headliner.. mine was all old and moldy from where the truck sat for 12 years in my neighbors backyard. and I ripped it all out. I didnt want to be breathing in all that mold! I am about to get my front windshield replaced and swap the sliding back glass to a single class setup, they are much easier to come by and do not rattling and PITA latches. Mainly interior parts here.

I cannot find some decent Toyota 4wd emblems anywhere, or clear parking light lenses.

Ive seen alot of chrome mirrors, the big square ones? My truck has the small black ones which I prefer.

I have:

Stock Mudflaps front and rear (just took em off)
4spd Shift knob (not the greatest shape)
2 5spd shift knobs, the mint one is in the truck.
79 Dash Bezel(mint) have a chopped up 82+ one in the truck
Side latch gate with no bad rust, its attached to a really crappy bed.
Mint side emblems(2 sets)
Factory center console
Full set of Chrome(square light buckets, grille, cab vents, bumper)
Close to mint bucket seats.
Arm rest/handle things, the funny shaped ones.
SR5 Gauge cluster(Km/h)

Stuff I cant find:

The carpet pieces that go on the bottom of the doors
Plastic kick panel covers
Plastic B pillar/seat belt interior covers(mine are cracked)
Blue Dash pad
Speaker Covers
Carpet/Vinyl floor covering
Lock Pull Tabs(toyota still sells them apparently?)
Engine shroud(piece under neath the motor/rad)
Marker light bezel's
Stock Tow hook
Stock Floor mats
Air intake hose/silencer
Throttle cable(almost impossible to find I swear, dont ever cut yours)

As far as the interior goes im wondering if newer reg. cab interior parts would fit, mainly the carpet and door panels, I've driven a few 3rd gen base models/2wd's and the door panels are similar if not the same? even the door latch and arm rests seem to be in the same spots. Carpet must be close too.. I really want carpet in my truck.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a decent dash or dash cover, and a floor mat because I hate vacuuming the crap out of carpet. And I'll keep my 4WD side emblems thank you...
