Vibration in 4wd only

Greetings,
I have a 2006 Tacoma TRD 4 door with new OME lift (replaced OME lift that was worn out). Truck has 197000 miles. New equipment replaced was upper and lower A arms, springs and shocks. CV axles were replaced early summer.

Prior to replacement of suspension, there was a vibration in front end when 4wd was engaged. Vibration continued with new equipment. Thought it was bad tires, but installed winter tires and vibration is still there.

Vibration occurs under power and/or at 45 mph and up. Tires are good and balanced. Toyota dealer mechanic said it was just the typical older truck vibration and there is nothing wrong. The truck has not done this before.

I mentioned to the dealer that I thought it could be a u-joint. But still they think nothing is wrong. I continue to feel the vibration and hope to troubleshoot this before anything serious happens.

Any thoughts or similar situation would be great.

Thanks for your time.

In my opinion the best place for you to start would be to remove the front driveshaft and have it balanced, they can tell you if it needs u-joints or you can just replace them since it's already out of the truck.
check for play in the yokes when you have the driveshaft out, both t-case and front diff. Any up/down, in/out, or side/side play is not good.
Your issue is obviously something that is only rotating in 4X4 or something that is flexing/moving out of alignment only in 4X4. So, I think you can rule out everything tire and wheel related and rear driveshaft/axle.
If your vibration is not caused by the front driveshaft you need to assume it is front CV shafts, front diff or the t-case output to the front.

Thanks akwheeler. This is helpful. I will talk to the mechanic who installed the front CV shafts this summer and work it back from there. We are in full winter mode up here and would like to get this figured out. Thanks again.
