He just put some Revo's on is all (285/70/r17).
I don't see that Bridgestone makes a Revo in this size. There is a 285/75-16.

I haven't looked to see when 5th engages, but I'm guessing 90+, well above what the V-8 will hit in the ¼.
Perhaps shifting into overdrive is suppressed during hard acceleration but driving home yesterday, holding a constant speed of 67 mph, the vehicle was in overdrive; when I changed the shift select from "D" to "4" I saw the rpm increase by about 700 rpm from just over 2,000 to just under 3,000.

The V-6... No stupid timing belt to replace and VVTi. V-8 does sound better

Got hit. I was stopped in alley and some guy blew by me and sideswiped my rig. ( 2 weeks ago) Just got the Truck back. I (didn't even have my plates on yet). It looks perfect and it was only body damage, so I'm over it now. I just wanted my Runner back.

I will talk with Doanlaw, and see when he has a spare moment (second baby due any day).

Enough excuses? I know, I know. We WILL do this - I can tell you that much.

I have not driven a V6 equipped truck but I had 2 Pathfinders with V6 engines, non VQ and those where solid engines, comparing them to the V8 of course they have differences but those V6 engines where solid and quiet with no history of problems.
I also wanted to say that Nissan's VQ engine is great! My mom has it in her '01 Infiniti QX4, and I am always itching to drive the QX4 because the engine is so great! The engine is incredibly smooth and quiet, but is loud enough so I can hear the really cool noise it makes when it goes into higher RPMs . The VQ is a huge improvement over the V6 in my sis's '99.5 Pathfinder (although that V6 is smooth and quiet, but is not as smooth and quiet and doesn't have even close to the power the VQ does). If only the VQ was in my 4Runner .

hehe. That's how I feel about my 04 V6, when it winds out it sounds MEAN.

Those that are interested, go test drive a 04 v6 and punch it. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised. I know the two 4th gen v8 owners initial reactions when they drove my v6 were "Wow!".

Yes the v8 rocks. bastards=p

It's on.

This Saturday 5/29 we are going to run :

04 V8 SE, AWD vs.

04 V6 SR5 4x4

Multiple passes , yada yada. BOTH have 3" revtek lifts installed already (didn't have time to run before we put them on).

yes the v8 should win, yes it will be close
(those that don't think so may be suprised).

I am also thinking of doing a couple different scenarios with the runs. Buying a TRD/K&N air filter and running it stock air filter, aftermarket, etc. Just to end that discussion on if they are worth it or not We will both most likely lose the spare tires as well.

Should be fun...I'm used to winning so this will be hard to swallow I'll update late saturday with timeslips.
