Toyota Recalls Some 2010 Tacoma Trucks

In another blow to their already shattered image of quality, Toyota has announced a recall of 2010 Tacoma trucks. The number is only 8,000, but that matters little to the public, many of whom are looking askance at Toyota following their massive series of recalls.

The 8,000 2010 Tacoma pickup trucks will need a fix to a problem with the front drive shaft that could cause the vehicle to lose control. The automaker said on Friday that a crack could develop that could lead to the front driveshaft separating and falling from the truck, which would lead to an obvious loss of control.
The latest in Toyota's highly publicized series of recalls, this recall follows millions of vehicles recalled late last year over a floor mat problem that could snag the accelerator pedal. Earlier this year, millions more were recalled due to an accelerator pedal issue, unrelated to the other and requiring actual modification to the vehicle. Finally, prior to this recall, Toyota announced a recall of 437,000 2010 Priuses over braking issues.

It looks like you copied and pasted this post from a news article. Where can I read the original?

there are a few other recalls on the 2010's, I think I saw something about the spare tire too.

I blame U.S. workers on these recalls. But I could be wrong as I don't know which yotas are and are not made in the US.

how would it have anything to do with who put it together? i think mostly a result of trying to cut cost; trying to make parts cheaper and not spending enough time and money designing and testing everything

I work in a production environment and most short cuts are taken by the workers. Nowadays there are more and more lazy, misguided, and untrained workers that take no pride in their work and just looking to make a buck. These types of people don't care about the quality and workmanship of their work.

The U.S. is getting fuller and fuller of greedy people as well, which is where the corporate short-cuts are taken because of workers constantly complaining they don't make enough money doing what they are doing.

i do as well and completely agree with you on the quality of labor anymore but the drive shaft issue for instance just seam like a result of either cheap material and or inadequate design just my opinion tho. the quality of vehicles in general these days is just depressing but not many people care they just want them as cheap as possible

Your news source is hillariously suspect -- barely credible.

how does the front drive shaft falling out lead to a loss of control? i can see if it falls out from the diff then it could vault the car but if it falls out from the transfer then all it would do is drag on the ground. the steering and braking wouldn't be affected.

If workers are lazy, misguided, and untrained, isn't that the corporation's fault as well? Isn't it their job to hire people that aren't lazy, then to guide and train them? And if that's not happening, isn't it because the company is slacking and trying to cut costs by hiring whoever and not training them or making sure that they're doing their job? Or is that just me?

It has been all over the news.

Even though its only 8000 trucks, the news has covered it since its yet another stat in an already popular attack.

I was highlighting the biased, loaded "news reporting" by that source. This "news reporting" reads like an editorial, not like the credible sources you've provided (good job, by the way).

And it's "there are" or "there're" or even better, "here are" or "here're" for the next time.
