Aren't x-runners 2wd? If so, that's a major con for you living in Alberta. I personally won't own a 2wd for the simple fact that for a couple thousand more you can have a real truck that's very capable.

Depends on what your version of "capable" is. The X-Runner is a very nice, and quite capable truck. It just happens to be a street truck, instead of a 4x4 offroad truck. Not everything in the world has to be 4x4, and perhaps he already has an offroad rig?

The only Con i see related to the X-runner so far is parts availability. Toyota did not make very many of those trucks, and most of the parts are specific to the X-runner. Including the engine assembly.

However, if you are looking for a street truck/DD, the X-Runner would be a perfect truck. I would really like to get my hands on a speedway blue X-Runner, toss on a few tasteful mods like a supercharger, and have a really nice and very sporty street truck.

Definetly not a truck for in the snow and ice but not really any cons outside of not having 4wd for those snowy days.

I agree. I wasn't saying it in a distasteful way. I guess I should've said I CAN'T own a 2wd truck. I work road construction and we also do private developments. Talk about an everyday mud bog. I regularly use 4wd and my locker. Not because it's fun, but because I have to. So, I really have to have a 4wd. Also, i'm back in my woods cutting firewood all the time and pulling logs around. I just read the post about the 05 and 06 tacos having e-locker rear end problems. I'm very very hard on my truck and have never had a problem with my drivetrain.
