just what the title reads. i read its goodt to do the first oil change around 1500, but i only have mobil1 5w30 handy, not dyno. should i go ahead and do it, or wait until 3000 and then do it?

Go for it. There's a million different opinions on this subject, but none that have proven it would be seriously detrimental to your engine.
Personally, I drained the factory oil at around 1000, and did another round of dyno until 5000, and then switched to Euro Castrol synth at 5000. But that's just me....

Yeah. The oil is a special formula from the factory designed for break-in. I wouldn't change it until 5000mi like they tell you to - at that point put in your synthetic.
Changing at 1500 is completely un-needed and may actually be doing harm.
3000 mile intervals are unneeded now for most vehicles and the manufacturers all say 5000 - yet dealers will still tell you 3000 so you give them some money. If there were any justification for changing at 1500, the dealers would tell you you should come in at 1500.
