Rear Differential Drain Plug Thread Pitch

Hi All,

I have a 2007 Access Cab TRD Off-Road 4.0L 6 speed manual. I need to know the thread pitch of the rear differential drain plug. I had the rear diff oil changed out at a lube shop ( I was far away from home) and the kid mentioned that the previous person (prior to my ownership) had cross threaded the drain plug. Needless to say it is now leaking. I'm thinking I may as well have all the tools on hand should I need them for the necessary repairs. I tried the dealership to no avail. Anyone have any insight? Much appreciated.

Thanks,

Canuckyota2

I don't have any experience with trucks new as yours, but just about all tranny, transfer case, and differential fill and drain plugs in 1980s and 1990s trucks are

18mm X 1.5mm thread pitch.

there should also be a sort of thin washer on your drain plug, if that is missing it can contribute to a leak
