What lift did you end up going with? I put 885's on my D-cab yesterday and it was only about 3/4" higher than the stock rear. 884's would probably leave it level. I like my 885 and alcan add-a-leaf, good combination so far with the slightest rake (not as much as stock).

I decided I heard too many vibratoin stories for the rear so I am going to try not to have to lift it. I have a pair of spacers from cornfed. A 1" spring spacer and a 3/4" top plate spacer. Looking at the truck that should leave me with 1/4 - 1/2" of rake left. If I HAVE to do something in the rear I am still undecided between 1" Alcan AAL or airbags. I LOVE the way the truck rides, which is another reason I am keeping the TRD coils up front. No its not the norm, but its functoinal, provides more droop while mainitainng the OEM ride. Also IMO there is no point to max out the front with a spring/spacer kit because all it does is increase your ride height and decrease your droop, you dont gain even a mm of tire clearance.

Post some pics up when you get yours on! I love white, that was my first choice in color.

I will be posting PLENTY of pics... I installed an hourmeter yesterday and need to get those photos up as well....
I am going to stick with 265's as the ability to run HD chains are a priority to me. Where we elk hunt its common to drive for weeks with all 4 chained up with the HD chains, and I have no desire to rip my fenders open
I may even stick with 265/70's if I had to... but in a load range D, these P rated tires have got to go...

I hope you aren't fussy about ride. A friend recently got a Taco w/ the TRD package, and it's the stiffest-riding creature I've ever experienced (including my Porsche 997 GT3)! That and the 6-speed transmission's huge intertia problem would conspire to make this a truck I wouldn't choose!
Not that it's all bad - the steering and chassis are otherwise first-class, as is the power. And, of course, the build quality is Toyota, which is saying a lot!
But, somehow, Toyota went astray here, and built a truck that was less than it might have been, and less than its competition. I'm a BIG Toyota fan, and have problems with recommending the '06 - '07 Tacos.

Its odd you say that, this thing rides smooth as silk.. i love it. In fact its about the same as my 03 4runner, so not sure whats wrong with your buddies... but a stiff ride isnt the norm.... Does he have a lift on it?

I agree, pre lift this thing rode the most carlike of any truck i have driven.

I thought that was kinda off a little. Every one I know with a TRD complanes about the stiff ride. When I bought mine in Jan. I test drove a TRD and couldn't stand the ride. Then I tried my non-TRD and loved it right off the bat. The ride is the only reason I didn't get the TRD package. Coincidentally, without the stickers, my truck and yours look exactly the same (in the non leveled pics).
I have always heard the stiff ride was the norm for TRD Toyotas.

I have never noticed a difference in TRD vs non TRD. The springs are different, but maybe its how I drive?? The ride is 10x softer than my 92... And its not much if any different than my 03 4Runner??
EDIT: There is a HUGE difference in coil diameter on my 03 vs 07, but ride is very similar on the road. On the back roads I bet the 07 could leave the 03 in the dust.
