New reg cab 4cyl 4x4's
I have been shopping around for a while now since after selling my car, and ever since I've seen the black 22RET truck that marty had at the end of back to the future, I've always wanted a 4banger 4x4 toyota truck (wich was about since 11 or 12). Well i've finally come around to the oppurtunity to get one, and I was wondering why these things have become so rare nowadays (these trucks in these configurations), the 22R was an excellent engine highly praised everywhere for it's durability. I'am wondering if the new 4cylinders are the same (unsure of the engine code here). Anyway, I ordered a impulse red, 4x4 reg cab tacoma, and will be posting pics in the coming weeks. I only have one hurdle with my loan, I just started a new job, and they want me to verify my income, and it's going to be atleast 2weeks before i get my first check, just wondering if their is a way around this (Since they do want me to verify income, i can verify that i'am employed). Any of you guys run into a similar hurdle ?

The current 4-banger is waaaaay better than even the 22R-E turbo was. They are dual overhead cam, have variable valve timing, put out about 160 hp and get about 25 mpg on the highway.
Toyota stopped making the 22R series of engines about 10 years ago.
