A friend of mine has an 04 sr5 v8 4runner that he wants to lift and put new tires and wheels on. He was lookin at spacers and I recommend 5100's instead. He is concerned that since they are only 2.5" lift instead of 3" he's going to have to trim more. I think it will be the same amount of trimming but a better ride and cv angles. I did recommend just a 1.5 spacer for the rear. The wheels he wants are 9" wide with a 4.5 offset. Are these going to be to wide to run 285's on and cause more rubbing? Or is he better off with a 275?

 

Shocks don't lift. Spacers ride like ass. Too much backspacing IMO and it will rub regardless of lift.

I thought the front 5100's had adjustment grooves in them to raise the spring perch? And I ment 4.5" backspacing not offset! If that matters.

 

These shocks do lift, the perch is adjustable so you can get up to 2.5" with them.
