I love the look of the PreRunner, but would most likely upgrade to light wheels and the highest quality suspension possible. That said, would I be better off saving cash and just getting a 5 lug 2WD Xtra cab and doing the suspension and wheels myself? Are the frames and chassis the same between those vehicles, so that taller suspension poped on to the 5 lug truck would make it almost the same vehicle?

 

the 2wd 5 lug tacos are spring undet axle. the 4wd/prerunner is spring over axle

 

Is that something that is easily altered, or relatively permanent?
