this is a writeup for installing cruiser control on a second gen Tacoma that is prewired for the addition. its quick, and inexpensive. my truck is a 2006 double cab prerunner, 4.0 automatic. you will need the control stick, 2 screws, a ground wire, and a bezel to install as per the factory. I purchased the stick from ebay and the other items directly from Toyota. remember to disconnect your battery first, you will be messing with your airbag... loosen the two torque head screws on either side of the wheel, this will allow removal of the airbag. remove the two wires from the back of the airbag by pulling out of the yellow tabs, and pulling straight back on the connectors. this is a PN for the new ground wire. simply remove the existing wire, and replace it with the new one which has an extra wire for the control stick. install the control stick like this these are the screws you will need, there are two install the new bezel this is the bezel PN after installing the airbag, check to ensure your control stick works. bam, you have cruise control.
this is the first 2nd gen ive ever owned, I was pleasantly surprised to find out about the plug and play mods (fog lamps, cruiser, int. wipers) for a base model truck
