Funny trans...maybe they just changed the trans fluid and it wasn't the right stuff?
I didn't do any of the services... I wanted all that stuff done before I went back out there to pick it up so I had the dealership I bought it from do it. I know he used Toyota fluids for the diffs and the tranny filter so I assume he did so for the tranny, too.

Does anyone have an idea what the vibration at 60-65 could be?

That was my first inclination. I had the tires balanced before I picked it up the 2nd time and he gave me receipts for all of it. Don't know where to go after that.

Check and see if the rear pinion has any movement in it. Or if maybe you have a u-joint going bad...

Glad to see you finally picked it up and the engine issues seem to be non-existent.

I would not chalk the vibration up to a transmission problem just yet.

Axle wrap is the norm for these trucks - I never drive my 2011 all that hard, but the few times that I have had to take off quickly, I've noticed it.

My 2007 had it pretty bad, but I drove that truck much harder as it was my POV for responding to fire calls.

This is a great suggestion.

The 2nd gen driveline is known for being very picky about the u-joints. Hit the zerks with some grease and see how she rides after that.

Way back when when I first got my truck used in 93, at about 65-70mph it would have a bad vibration, come to find out my drive shaft was not balanced, so I had a new one built, new shaft and u-bolts which got rid of the vibration completly and I have had no problems with it since. I did install downey's "Weld-on over the top rear truss setup which adds the traction bar for axle wrap and also makes the rear axle a solid one piece housing. as of today I have had no issues with drive shaft and u-joints and I do have 5.29 gears installed which really cause bad axle wrap mainly from take off's, again no issues since installed

After doing some searching around on some other forums, it appears the vibration is pretty common and that i may be able to solve the problem by flipping the driveshaft. I dont know how or why this works... im still searching... but a lot of folks have had good results by doing it so unless i find a good reason not to i'm going to give it a go tomorrow.

PS - i didnt feel any slop in the pinion but the u-joints looked untouched from the factory. Might be time to change them.

Generally, i try to find cars away from Atlanta. Most stuff here has been subjected to stop and go traffic in very hot conditions on a routine basis. When traffic isnt stop and go, people are traveling 80+. Just seems like bad conditions for a used vehicle. I could be wrong on my assumptions, but its just the way i feel about it.

Plus, i just couldnt find what i wanted for the price. I had 2 very specific trucks in mind so i knew i was going to have to travel to get it.

You should check out the Atlanta meet and greet thread and try to come up to the Varsity with us. Right now it just looks like a couple of us there but it would be cool if we got a good group.
