Yeah he does- that LC with H1 axles is a total custom job for a customer.
I had some other ideas for him too- it's dangerous for me since I get fanatical about design
but yeah, he does all kinds of custom work.
He wheels a 40(green monster on his website) with all the LC off road guys. If you come out to Pismo this Nov. you can meet them all- great bunch of guys. Hanna and Slee are the two LC mainstays- both wheel together- actually I gather the entire LC crowd is very tightly knit.
Ken said if anyone want to email him, he's happy to reply so feel free

I went up to see Ken with FirstToy that day and boy do those frame mounts (frame wrapping mounts?) look nice! I always though welding was the way to go but after looking at his design, there is no way welding can be stronger, his method makes so much more sense.... I want some too!! It would be one of the excuses to get a 4th Gen...
FirstToy! We should go up again! Does he know how many people are interested?!

Sorry about the hijack this thread, but this has to be said.If you are talking about the same rock barriers that the US Forest Service, BLM and other land management agencies use here in NM to close roads, riparian areas, river crossings, etc. then please find a new place to wheel. This behavior is the exact reason why our recreation is under so much scrutiny and the US Forest Service, BLM, etc. are closing areas permanently.
Please only wheel in approved, open areas. If you don't know, ask. Please wheel responsible and not in places that have obviously been closed for a reason beyond your comprehension. These aren't obstacles built as a challenge to get past, they are meant to close off an area usually for archeological or ecologiocal restoration.

I'm in on the sliders...
put me on the list! I've got XREAS.
Let me know if you all got any great ideas on lifting my baby. I'm thinking about ditching XREAS and getting Downey. I thought I was all set up with NE, but somehow got sucked into a black hole, LOL.

Confirmation of quality of Hanna and Slee's sliders
Hey Guys -- cool forum ya got here.
I just coompleted a trip on the Rubicon trial with a few buddies with Land Cruisers. We had 2 FJ40s, 1 FJ60, and 3 FZJ80s in our group. Of the FZJ80s (1 '96 and 2 '97s).
I have a set of Slee Offroad's sliders; the 2 other 80 series on this trip have Hanna's sliders. I can personally confirm that both Slee's and Hanna's sliders are extremely high quality and very rugged. If you plan on doing any kind of serious wheeling in your rigs -- you're gonna want a set of sliders. If you want to be confident that your sliders will protect your rig (rocker panels and lower portions of your doors), I suggest you get a set from either Slee or Hanna. I don't know if Slee Offroad makes a set for the 4th gens -- I know he makes them for the 3rd gen and also for Tacomas; Ken Hanna might be your best bet for 4th gen sliders.
As for the pics posted by FirstToy - I know all the Land Cruisers (and the owners
), except for the last one posted -- the first pic of the burgundy Land Cruiser belongs to Jim Brantley -- his was the prototype for Hanna's sliders. The "ulttimate 80" that Ken's working on belongs to Drexx Laggui; Drexx is planning on racing that thing. The cruiser sitting on top of the rock belongs to Robbie Altonson -- those are slee sliders on his rig. That pic was from last year's 80 series run of the Rubicon. Robbie got himself caught up on Volkswagen rock in Old Sluice. The pic under that one belongs to Jason (whose last name I can't remember now) -- the pic was from this years Cruise Moab trip -- those are Hanna sliders.
FirstToy - I think I met you at last year's Surf-n-Turf trip. I have the white LX 450 (it was the only whilte 450 there
).
Just remember -- you get what you pay for. Both Slee and Hanna produce quality products. Bolting quality products on your rigs means that you don't have to worry about their performance when you need them the most.
Cheers.

Doug,
You and Alvaro were teasing about who had the taller truck right? I was so impressed with all the LC's and people. I'm planning on going again this year too.
Hey Doug why you running those bootleg Slee's when you know Hanna's are better! HAHA, just kiddin'! Major props to Christo and Ken. That Slee seems like a cool guy, hope to meet everyone at Pismo.

That was us. Hope to see you again this next time around. When I began my build up, Ken had not begun marketing his sliders. If I knew he was around, I would've saved the drive to CO to hook up with Christo. That said, I have no regrets what so ever.
Cheers!

Plan hasn't changed. Towards the end of Sept. he will be free'd up to start on the sliders. I emailed him if he has time sooner, I would be willing to go up earlier.
After that, it's just a matter of getting it made up and I can go up and put them on! I figure he will be in production in plenty of time for Surf n' Turf - that would work out great for you Andries! That would be cool if we had a few 4Runners show up and bolt those on. Can't wait!

that's cool. I think Juan would be flattered you picked it out of the blue. It is for a Tarot card series, btw.
