It worked for others, so I'm not sure what to say. There is nothing along the side of that battery? I can't tell from the pic, but it would be located next to the battery rather than next to the fuse box. Mine looked exactly like the pic below. Maybe because you've got a runner and mine's a Tacoma? Sorry you're still chirping! But you must have a piezo buzzer somewhere and I'm sure it is connected the same way.

PS. why does your fuse box look different? it has no labels on it, and it looks wider than mine.

well I guess I would suggest popping the hood and listening while you beep. eventually you'll probably find a piezo buzzer somewhere that you can unplug. Sorry this didn't help you 4runner guys!

Here's a link about someone disabling/lowering their 2003 4runner unclock beeps. It appears the only way that it can be done is by taking it to the dealer. http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=hondael...1=FF9473&f=ifr

A lady getting into a RX300 next to me had the exact same beeping Toyota alarm. It's gotta be the same for alot of Toyota products...I'm doing a search & destroy on that piezio!!

I briefly checked it out today. I think it may be located under the cowling /vent cover (black thing) just below the windshield.
I didn't have time to take it apart today, but will do so tomm.
I'll let you know what I find.

Cool. If you find it (and it is the same concept as the Taco one) there should be a connecting wire harness about 5 inches from the piezo. It unplugs easily. I hope you find it!

I found that son-of-a *&$#*(Beep)
I snapped a few pics then my camera died.
There is a retaining ring that is around that big circle. In my pic you can see it hanging free still on the wire. It was a pain in the butt to get off. Basically it has two connectors on one side of the ring. These connectors make a full sturdy circle when connected. I pulled the ends apart and pressed toward the center of the hole until one end was free. After that it was just pull it right off.
The Red arrow is where the beeper lives (lived)
The green arrow below is a snap fitting that keeps it attached to the wheel well. I just twisted it and pushed it in with a pair of needle nose pliers. After that, you just pull the little "piezo" of crap out.

Sorry about the pic size you guys. I know way too big!
My thumb is only in the picture as a reference to the size of that piezo!!!
Later,

Nice, kill the beep! I had a thought last night, though. My alarm, RS3200, says that it has a "warning" alarm if it hears glass tapping or something. What might this warning alarm be? Could it be the piezo chirping instead of the horn honking? If so, I've just disabled it by have no piezo whatsoever. At least the horn honk full alarm works.

i just tore mine out. okay, i didn't actually "tear" anything, but sure did pull that mother out happily! took me about 2 minutes because i was plugging one of my ears in case the alarm went off (would've been really loud in my garage!). now i have the little black piece riding around in my pocket because i'm not sure what to do with it now.
you other 4th gen owners, are you still riding around without yours, or have you since reinstalled it? just curious. any problems or alarm issues you've come to experience after the removal of this little piece?

Yanked the beeper out of my Taco the day after I bought it, no ill effects other than a couple times I didn't double check that I got the doors locked with the remote. I'm thinking of muting it somehow and putting it back in for the lock verification, but it sure as hell doesn't need to be that loud.
I'll have to get a pic of mine up but it looks different than that one above in 02runner's post, it was cylindrical in shape wrapped in foam and I found it laying on the inner fender next to the battery, not stuck through the fender like above. It appears to be the same as ewarnerusa's.

thanks to this thread, i will be able to turn up the volume on my sisters 2k runner just to be an annoying older brother.
this got me thinking of ways to mess with people, and one of the funniest things me and my friends have done was attach a small radio shack piezo buzzer($1) to one our girlfriends car. we attached it to the brakelights and just left the piezo buzzer in the brakelight housing. it wasnt loud at all, but it just left a horribly annoying beep sound everytime the brakes were touched. It was really funny when she drove us across town the next day, she was flipping out... two days later we took it off of her tahoe and it was soo worth it that we did it to one of the other girls who ran around with us... the best part about this little prank is that it takes exactly 10 minutes to do, and costs us like 2$. if someone does this to you, youll finally realize just how annoying sitting at a redlight can be...
