4th gen rear rotor removal

I'm having a hard time getting off my rear rotors off, they need to be turned.
The problem is that the emargency brake pads are keeping pressure on the rotors and I can't find any way to adjust them to allow rotor remaval,

After removing the wheel, look at the front of the rotor where the wheel mounts to. You should see two holes, about 1/2", opposite each other. If you shine a light in them you will see that they align with a hole in the axle hub. Turn the hub to get one of these holes in about the 6 o'clock position, and insert a narrow straight blade screwdriver through the hole to reach the adjusting starwheel to back-off on the parking brake shoe adjustment. You will have to use a flashlight to align the hole properly with the adjusting wheel. I don't remember if you rotate the adjuster up, or down to back-off the adjustment. There is no self adjusting mechanism, so you don't have to hold a lever out of the way while turning the adjuster, it is kept from turning on it's own by a spring stretched across it, but it will move fairly easily. Once you are ready to reinstall the rotors, use the same method to adjust the parking brake back to where it should be. I use three lug nuts and larger spacer nuts to hold the rotor against the hub while making the adjustment. I believe the manual directs you to tighten the adjuster wheel until the hub/rotor won't turn and then back off 8-10 'clicks' of the adjuster.
