FYI

It has been my experience that linking pics with a "space" in the saved name coverts to a "%" and then for some reason you cannot see it as an IMG link.

Just save your pic names without spaces.

Billy,
That is the sickest 4th gen I have seen yet. Very nice Job Man!

To this point I haven't cared much for the new styling, but with shoes that big it makes it look like a runner again!

Awesome

Nolan-

Scroll down and check midiwall's link, or copy the address into your URL.

Etoy-

Hey, thanks bro. She has been quite a work in progress. Hoping to wrap up the majority of the major mods soon and be able to cruise town with at least $5 in my pocket. The 315's definitely make it look tough as hell, though they are pretty tight. I think I am going to buy a set of cheaper 16" steel wheels and throw some 305's on them for when I take her wheeling...the 315's will take over as her cruisin shoes...thanks again.

Got a question for you all...I know I have seen aftermarket upper control arms on here for 2nd and 3rd gen runners that are a bit sleeker than the OEM ones. I was thinking about getting new uppers made instead of adding wheel spacers, as all I really need to do is pull the tire away from the upper control arm. There is only 3/8" between the tire and arm right now, but I am experiencing no rubbing at all, so I really dont want to change my wheel setup and/or stance. And yes, I did run a search on control arms.

The main question is, who should I talk to about getting 2 of them made?? Thanks.

No one has made A-arms for 4th gens to my knowledge. This would be a custom job, I'd talk to the folks at Total Chaos or Inland Trucks. Have you "flexed" with the new setup? I realize its hard to tell from the pics, but it doesn't look like you've got much room to "stuff" without hitting "stuff." I'd do some parking lot tests with ramps on opposite corners of the vehicle. Another test would be to crank the steering wheel all the way left or right, then drive up a ramp to see the clearance you have while turning and stuffing at the same time. I know with my 285's, rubbing was always worse when I was turning.

David-

Hey, thanks for the help and info. I'll give those guys a call. As far as stuffing the tires, my top of tire dimension to the bottom of the fender is actually about an inch more than a stock setup...though they do pack real tight. I truly have no rubbing at angle of articulation and turn. I'll keep ya posted...thanks again.

Billy

Oh yeah, any rough ideas of cost on 2 A-arms??

Hmmm.....if its a custom job it might run ~500 bucks? Just a wild guess.

Hey, I am not sure what I need to do to correct the link. I have been trying to remove the "20%" part that is causing the problem. You should be able to select the URL and just copy and paste it into your address bar, or follow the corrected link that midiwall created. Let me know if you still have probs...also, I saw that all of your guards and tube steps are for sale...have new ones in mind???...just curious.

David-
Thanks, that is about what I figured...not too bad.

Yeah, I am definitely a much bigger fan of the safari guard style...those other ones you had sat a little low...nice move on getting the new one. My wheels are konig tremors 17x8.5"...you can get them in the painted silver like mine, or a polished aluminum...though the aluminum is $300-400 a wheel last time I checked...maybe even more. Konig actually makes a lot of wheels for BMW...they are great quality, and I have had mine for about 4 years now, and there isn't a thing wrong with em.

Good news guys-

I just got off the phone with Inland Trucks and they are going to build me 2 new upper control arms asap. I just have to ship mine off and it will be about a 4-5 day turn around. I spoke with Total Chaos as well, and they were not ready to fab some yet, though they should have them made within the next 6 months. I'll be sure to take a ton of pics and post info once they arrive in the next couple weeks. Slowly but surely, us 4th geners are getting a few aftermarket parts.

Just want to keep you all informed-

Inland Trucks in So-Cal is building me new upper control arms. I will be shipping mine off on monday, and should have them back by the following monday. I would expect them to be on sale to the general public soon after. They say I should gain about 1" more of lift from the arms, as well as allow my 315's to clear without rubbing the arms under my current setup...sounds perfect. I'll keep ya'll posted...have a good weekend.
