That is the TACOMA X-RUNNER.

From what it looks like, it might be the TACOMA + SPORT PACKAGE.

I'm beginning to wonder, however, how different will the regular TACOMA look from this.

I want to see what it looks like without all that body cladding on it..

I think (over time) that I'll start to like it.. We'll see.

Edit: Check out the interior, it looks like they stripped out a Lexus and plopped it in the new Tocker..

Should be a flyer with that new v-6.

Not a big fan of that look - a bit too much goning on.
Very street looking. I bet it gets better in 4x4 trim. Looks like the front and back are on roids but the cab ain't hitting the gym?

But acording my my truck friends my 04runner looks like a space ship.

Why in the world would you want a rear locker in that truck??

Look at the clearance it has. You'll get high-centered in anywhere with that.

We'll see what the 4x4 version looks like. Hard to get a true idea with all the ground effects that has on it.

The headlight/grill area is not as bad as it could have been.

When will the 4x version first appear?

I'm actually pleasently surprised. Although does anybody else think the "fender flare" design of the bed looks like the new Chevy Colorado compact pickup?

Overall, not bad, but lets see the double cab 4x4 version!

(also, what is with toyota and that nasty baby blue color? The FJ, the FTX and now this are all in that similar blue.)

Note the 4 doors on it? nice addition that should have been int the 2K1 style change!

Personally, I think it looks killer. Like how the Nissan guys are doing to their best to tear it to shreads on their forum...lol The day any Nissan truck/SUV outdoes a toyota it'll be a damn cold day in hell...not likely at all. The new Titan is decent, but the frontier and xterra...not at all...I will give them credit on their cars, both the altima and maxima are great vehicles and very affordably priced.

I'm sure there has been some nissan bashing here before I arrived, so I won't continue.

The new taco is gonna be very sweet, hands down. Remember the inital response to the new runner? I didn't like it either. But the taco looks good right off the bat, IMHO, so I'm sure it will be a winner.

I'm no fan of glued-on kit, but in this case it almost works. The blue looks like the same pearl blue on the SC430 and upcoming Scion tC. I'll take one in the new Scion Black Cherry Pearl, please.

Here's my cross-post and link from another thread:

"Note the 1GR 4.0L V-6 will have an available S/C, standard 6M/T, LSD, X-braced frame, special suspension tuning, 18" tires and wheels, and check out those seats! Stock 0-60 will be around 7 flat, probably breaking into 5's with the S/C, and will generate more grip than a 350Z! I'll bet it rides like a ...truck, though."

it's quick but I have to head out to lunch now. You get the idea

It looks like what I saw 6 months ago. I like it!

Makes the Nissan look like a tincan cheapo that's for sure

If the TRD/Offroad model looks anything like that, then I like it! Especially of that hood scoop is functional.

i think its a little over the top... the stripped down regular taco might look better.

either way, i think its a great step forward in modernizing this old line

I hope it's not too nice. If it is, I might have to trade in my 04. I'd probably wait until '06 so they get all the bugs worked out.
