Any one have a mild muffler that they would recommend for my v8?

 

Gibson is mild - so is the TRD but more $$

 

How about the stock one?

Seriously, I've seen this asked in other car forums too. Why replace the muffler, if you only want a slightly louder sound? Doesn't make sense to me, but whatever. You can try cutting off the resonator near the exhaust tip, it's that bulge right near the tip. That should change the sound somewhat, but how it sounds I'm not sure

 

I bought that Gibson Cat-back. It sounds great and was simple to install. It took 1 hour. You can hear it with windows down, but very little sound with windows up. You can hear all 8 cylinders. I have also increased my Avg. MPG from 16 to 17.5.

 

I went with the Magnaflow(muffler only). Not sure of the size, it was one of the larger ones, 24" maybe or XL. Model #12586.
Gives it a slight performance sound, no drone at all at highway speeds.
I had the exhaust exit to the side.
BTW-it is for the 4.7L
Very happy with it.

 

I am looking closely at the Magnflow cat back system. I have seen older posts quoting $380. Best price I have found is $475. Where is the best place to purchase?
