my drivers door on my 2004 4runner is locked and won't open even with the key

 

What happens when you try to use the remote? Does the motor even get power? What about when you turn the key? Does it turn at all or is the entire mechanism seized?

If it's just the driver's side door, can you go in from the passenger side and manually articulate the lock with any success?
