I have a lame question in terms of technicality. I was looking for the recommended oil weight for a 2004 V6 4Runner along with the quantity of quarts. I don't have my owners manual, and I can't seem to find a Chilton/Haynes manual for the year I have.

3.4L engine uses 6qt (5.7L) of 5w30 or 10w30 depending on your climate.

4.0L engine uses more, but I can't remember the quantity. 7L of fresh oil will cover your needs.

I have a 03.. I've been running Amsoil w/ no probs. My Owners Man says 5.5 qts when you change the filter too.
Its easy w/ the 6. Just remember to hold something below the little tray that the oil filter screws in to. There is a drain hole in it. Mine had no hose or plug. I just hold a small jar beneath it to catch the drips..

^^ couldnt help to notice ur sig. u have 166,000 miles. thats insane, how is the 4.0 holding up with that many miles. any problems?
