Doug,
Que Bueno! Job well done buddy. And I'm proud to join the club too!
I got the DayStar lift on today; two hours, eight minutes. I just drove it home from Phoenix, about three hours, and loved every minute. Even busted out on some trails on the way home.
The only bad thing........the X REAS made my dash board look like a X MAS TREE! The brake light, the VCS, and the VCS OFF lights are all on. I'm gonna disconnect the computer tommorrow and reset under the "learn mode." Hopefully that will reset it. Any suggestion on this, did you experience it?
The DayStar package and people were nice to work with; I've got pics throughout the process and I'll do my best to post them over the weekend. Dan Sexton at DayStar helped the whole way through and made it possible.
Installation was done by releasing the first XREAS line mount, and pulling the strut assembly under the control arm and it was no sweat. There seems to be plenty of slack in the brake and shock lines for full articulation.
However, the rear shock definitley needs an extender from the top side as I bottomed out (over extended) testing it out. The rear lift took all of twenty minutes.
After getting under that XREAS, I don't think its quite as complicated as they say. In fact, I've got some questions about it. I know its a closed system, but I don't think its under pressure unless the tires are on the ground. At that point each shock works "against" the other and thereby creates the pressure "against" one another. Did you see the resevoirs for each line? There are a total of six connection/valves per line but no bleeder. How the heck would they install it if it were truely closed and pressurized? Is it gas or hydraulic anyway?
I'll stay in touch over the weekend and nice @$&*!@ job!
Salud, Adam.

Great job guys, Adam, did you get the lights to reset?
Doug, how much is the Rev-Tek rear spacer? Your truck looks level after the lift, stock it's usually raked to the front.
I've got the black/gray cladding. Some days it looks like a good stock height and some days it looks flat and low to the ground. By adding a lift, it would be like a breast augmentation! Woohoo!

I will have to wait to post the DayStar lift pics. I tore my house apart looking for the right cable to connect the digicam to the computer - but noooooo, thats not my luck. I will try to buz up to town tommorrow to grab a new one - its a haul up to town, so it might have to wait until monday.
Billy - The DayStar is a coil spacer. The rear spacer seats on the top of the coil. The front spacers are two part, one on each side of the top coil/strut mounting plate ( if this what its called.) The pics will illustrate it better and I will include all measurements / dimensions with them.
No I didn't get a chance to reset the computer. I did however leave the battery disconnected all day as a hope of a quick fix. No such "quick fix." Any one else with some suggestions on this? Doug, you didn't experience this? I didn't find any sensors tied in directly to the XREAS lines and I can't seem to figure out what it would be.

Sedonaz,
That's great the lift went in in 2.5 hours! Can't wait to see pics.
Billy or someone said their lights went on after the lift...I think it was Billy?
That is odd. Were there any wires disconnected/reconnected with the lift?
Keep us updated.
Oh, how do you like the ride now that you have a few more hours behind the wheel? Impressions on/off road?

FirstToy,
I disconnected no lines whatsoever. I thought on one of last fall's threads, one of the first guys lifting the 4th gen ran in to the same problem, but I can't find the thread.
The install was quick. The first front side took about fifty minutes. The key is to lift the truck on a chassis hoist or put it on blocks so all 4 wheels are off the ground. The second front side took about thirty minutes because we knew what to do.
The hardest part on the front was utilizing the manual coil compressor. The rear coil spacer was a breeze.
We took detail pics and will put descriptions on them when we post.

Yeah, I was the guy with the christmas tree dash light mod rollin for a while. When we had her up the lift and were stuffing the front coils back in, we snapped the ABS lines. You can bust the wires internally and not even know it...we actually snapped both sides, as well as broke a wheel sensor...lol...I have had the rear apart endless times and only loosen the brake line bracket on the top part of the axle. I am not saying that the lift cannot be put on with out disconnecting the front abs lines, but it is not worth the risk. They are $40 a piece, and a wheel sensor is $150, not money you want to be wasting like I did. I am assuming that when you slam on your brakes, you get no abs response, right?? I had 3 or 4 lights on when mine was ˟˟˟˟˟˟ed up...the ABS, Parking Brake, VSC, and one other one i think. Once you fix everything, you will have to go lock your brakes to make the computer recognize that all has been fixed. I am not sure if there is a way of testing your abs wires without having to cut them open. Hit me back if you have any questions...hope this helps.

Hey guys, sorry for not replying earlier, but I just got back from Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala. Wow!! The pictures seem to show that I had a good time!!!
Although I can't really remember much of it. Just kidding by the way!!!!
I have a few pics I am going to post of the LC Prado I rented. What a piece of crap compared to my 4Runner.
Let me tell you, I rented a 200? LC Prado for a week down in Central America and "Wow" I can honestly tell you that I was really disapointed with the whole ride: except for the vinyl on the floor
Trust me, you're not missing a thing by not having this one available. Hell I'd even take my 4 drum 71 FJ40 over the Prado.
Sorry about your lights Adam. I did not experience any kind of problems and lighting of my dash. I took into account what Billy said when he did his. I was very very cautious about what was pulled and or stretched. Thanks Billy.

Sorry, the thread is up now.
Sac State: I don't think the Rev Tek kit is available only for the rear. I'm thinking I paid less than $400 from Wheelers offroad.
John: My truck is offroad about 20-30 hours a week. I'm happy with the clearance from the lift.
I don't do any major rock climbing or difficult trails though. Where I live you need an airboat to get to the trails.
Mud is the big thing here but it's not for me.

Unless I missed it, HOW did you reset the lights etc ???

Sweet deal! Can't wait to see some pictures of the finished goods to see how the install looks!
