'08 Sport (non-Limited) DIC switched to Metric - Can't get it back to English?

Like the title says - the Driver Information Center under the radio where temperature, time and mileage is displayed switched to Metric on me and I can't get it back to English Standard. I looked all throughout the Owner's Manual and didn't find instructions on how to return it to normal.

After 6 years in Europe I could probably deal with it...but I don't want to, so halp! :o

Probably not anyone's priority but my own to fix this issue - but any help would be appreciated. I searched for over two hours today to find an E/M button or a K/M button as described by a Toyota Service Tech - but does not exist. I've read the Owner's Manual 3 times and can't find out how to switch this back to English. WTF.

Yeah...both Toyota and multiple dealerships say that this is a physical improbability to happen...yet it happens to a ton of people.

I will disconnect the battery in the Morning to see if anything changes.

on my '05 Tacoma I could have sworn there was a button that toggled it, but sold the truck 2 years ago. from what I remembered it was fairly small

Update for archival:

- Pulled battery terminal. DIC reset itself to English / Imperial.

Problem: I noticed two things in the last 24hrs

1) Someone hit my truck in the right rear bumper
2) I've lost functionality in the following systems: Rear Wiper, Rear Washer, Rear Defrost, Front Washer, Air Recirculation

I do not know if the first problem is related to the new problems or if the new problems are the result of the damage to the rear (unlikely) but it is extremely odd that all of these things are going wrong at the same time.

I've pulled some fuses - nothing looks out of the ordinary. Making an appointment with the dealership on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

After you pull the battery cable you need to fully open and close the back window, driver side window, and sunroof (if equipped) to make the rear wiper and auto open/close functions work again.

Very late reply, I know, just as a reference for others.

That would explain my issues this past winter that I attributed to an electrical gremlin.

I ended up trading my 4Runner because of it. Enjoy my new corvette...but would have been nice to have had rear defrost and wiper last winter.
