'07 V8 4Runner LTD & OME lift: 884's w/N140S's - what can I expect vs 885's?
Hello all and thanks for taking a look. I have read EVERYTHING about the 4th gen 4Runner OME set-up and am still in a bit of a quandry:
I have a stock V8 LTD and have read/been told that I should run OME 884's in the front and OME 895's in the back by some and others say you have to put the OME 885's in the front.
My main question is this: If I want to maintain the basic factory rake, is the OME 884 the right coil? Has anybody been running the 884/N140S - 895 - N141?
I would greatly appreciate any feedback. I have read everything and it seems like the basic feeling is that stock V8s should run the 885's but this also seems to lift the front more than the back, killing the factory rake.
Thanks for all assistance!

I went with what Slee recommended which is 885 and N140 for fronts and 895 and N141 for the rears. The 885s do lift the front more than the rear but you have to keep in mind that the rear is so much higher to begin with.
I've had my OME susp on for only about 2 months now. It definitely levels the vehicle out but there still seems to be a very slight rake with the rear still slightly higher.
I can't answer your question about the 884s. I'm sure you know they are recommended for the V6. If the 884s are used for the V8 they may cause the front to bottom out due to the additional weight of the V8. Don't know.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think the 884's will let the shocks bottom out. They have the same rate as the 885's, they're just 10mm shorter. Also, the 884's are definitely a bit stiffer than stock, I'm pretty sure.
ARB told me to go with the 884's and I've gotten several different people there tell me about 10 different things.

If you are not running a bumper/winch the 884's will be fine. You are correct about the spring rate being the same and the only difference is the 10mm height .4 inch. The 885's with a V8 in my opinion would be the way to go since it will allw you in the future to add a bumper/winch and not go nose down too much. So basically it is up to you.
On my 04 V8 I am running Hoes all around and Camburg upper control arms with an ARB bumper and Warn M8000 winch and it works very well. We stock these as well as OME. You can get a quote from Gerone at info@trdparts4u.com of all these setups. He is working today. Good luck
